چکیده

We design a Nakagami multi-channel simulator by modeling the received combined signal-to-noise ratio as a finite-state Markov chain, following a previously proposed approach. Our model generates directly the error process at the output of a diversity receiver and can emulate selection, maximal-ratio and equal-gain combining. As the order of diversity increases, the savings in computational complexity augment linearly with respect to a traditional waveform simulator.

Markov Decision Model for Perceptually Optimized Video Scheduling

Transmitting video over slow fading wireless channels with good perceptual quality is a challenging task because no time-diversity can be exploited to combat channel variations, especially when the frequency diversity and spatial diversity is not available due to the wireless system implementation. While quality-scalable video coding techniques make video source-rate adaptation possible, determ...

Exact evaluation of maximal-ratio and equal-gain diversity receivers for M-ary QAM on Nakagami fading channels

Exact integral expressions are derived for calculating the symbol-error rate (SER) of multilevel quadrature amplitude modulation (MQAM) in conjunction with L-fold antenna diversity on arbitrary Nakagami fading channel. Both maximal-ratio combining (MRC) (in independent and correlated fading) and equal-gain combining (EGC) predetection (in independent fading) diversity techniques have been consi...

Analysis and Simulation of MRC Diversity Reception in Correlated Composite Nakagami-Lognormal Fading Channels

The physical meaning of the composite Nakagami-lognormal fading model is not well understood by many researchers using the model. The signal power transfer and transform at the interface between the global lognormal shadowing sub-channels and the local Nakagami multipath sub-channels in the presence of correlation between these diversity sub-channels is rather complex. This is the main reason w...

Performance of Antenna Diversity with Turbo Trellis Coded Modulation Over Nakagami Channels

In this paper, we will use the Space Time Block codes for antenna diversity, and the performance of Space-Time – Turbo Trellis Coded Modulation (ST-TTCM) is investigated over Nakagami channels. For high data transmission over wireless fading channels, Space-Time Block Codes provide the maximal possible diversity advantage for multiple decoding algorithms. The effects of fading channel are consi...

Performance Analysis of Space Time Trellis Codes Over Nakagami Fading & Rayleigh Fading Channels: With Comparative Analysis

Space-time trellis codes provide both diversity gain and coding gain. There are two different design criteria proposed for spacetime trellis codes (STTCs), namely the rank and determinant criteria (RDC) and the Euclidean distance design criteria (EDC). In this paper, we present the performance of STTCs over Nakagami fading channels. Our results show that the STTCs designed for Rayleigh fading c...
